  • Worksite wellness health promotion efforts focused on policy and environmental changes, such as adding nutrition labels to items sold in the cafeteria and reducing the cost of health benefits for employees participating in wellness programs.

Lessons Learned:

  • Hospital worksite wellness initiatives were generally already established.
  • Some hospital staff work 12-hour and night shifts and have difficulty participating in daytime programs.
  • School worksite wellness programs were often established as a result of COPDP and would not have taken place otherwise.
  • Students have frequent and direct contact with school staff. Promoting staff wellness through worksite programs has the potential to create healthy role models for students.
